From Our Home To Yours

Happy two years to us! We landed in the Kingdom of Thailand on December 3rd, 2012. One of my favorite early memories is when we discovered that the sheets we brought with us didn’t fit the bed in our first pre-furnished house. Our solution was to lie out the flat sheet as wide as we could beneath us and cocoon …

Paxton The Lion

One of Paxton’s favorite books is just a few short pages of cartoon-ish animals. I always make the accompanying sound (appropriate if you’re me, mixed up if you’re Brian – e.g. meow for a cow or Loch Ness Monster for a fish ). Oh the teasing. But anyway, Pax latched onto the lion and does a mean impression. I could …

Afternoons at Grace

Many a late afternoon Pax and I will walk or ride the bicycle over to Grace. Brian is typically involved with whatever sport activity is going on, and Pax loves to be a part of it. And there’s plenty to explore and play with on campus. One of Brian’s colleagues, Khun Kee, often stops to spend a few minutes with …

(Yet More) Our Last Months in a Week

The last of our summer updates!: Volleyball Clinic Just before the beginning of the school year the varsity volleyball boys hosted a fundraiser clinic for their upcoming sports trip. I helped out with coaching and running drills throughout the 2-day event. We had nearly 100 students participate, which is over 1/6th of the student population at Grace! That certainly exceeded …

(More) Our Last Months in a Week

Continuing our summer updates! Raw Till 4 Fruit Festival In July about 250 fruit-loving, health-seeking people came from all over the world to gather in Chiang Mai. We heard about the festival a few months prior from some friends who were planning to attend, and after praying about it for a couple months we decided to get involved as …

Pax’s Church Birthday Celebration

The sweet folks at our church surprised us with a little celebration for Pax’s 1 year birthday, which happened to fall on a Sunday. They invited him up front and sang ‘Happy Birthday’. So thoughtful. He’s acting cool and calm in all the pictures but inside he’s leaping with joy and feelings of love. I know this. 😉 And I …

Our Last Months in a Week

Indeed, it sounds like we’re confused about what to call the things that go into a week. Days? Surely. Minutes? Inevitably. Months? Too big! Read ‘Our Last Months in a Week’ a little differently and you’ll understand that we’re sharing about our last few months in Chiang Mai, bit by bit, over the course of a week. So settle your …

Royal Flora

Our church community went to Royal Flora (a botanical garden of sorts) for a post church afternoon outing recently. The boys played frisbee throughout the park and the girls chatted. Times were good.

Family Photos

We recently had the opp to take some pro bono family photos with a local photographer. Score! He does really fantastic work. (Thanks Thum!) We picked a pretty location, got all did up (I curled my hair which is a rare occasion in this hair-fall-flat-and-frizz-up-humidity) and dressed in our coordinated outfits. We had a lot of fun that afternoon. At …

Ultimate Frisbee

Every Saturday afternoon Brian plays ultimate frisbee with a dozen or so Grace students (and a few other adults). It’s intense! And often when Pax and I go to watch we overhear remarks about “how fast Mr. Elliott is.” Always makes me smile. So proud of those fast feet we are. Ha. 🙂
